Translating these satellite images to time-series data, we can focus on specific locations. The charts above show the difference in recovery of southern vs northern China. Northern China is more rapidly nearing 2019 levels and thus is recovering more quickly.
The charts also highlight the Chinese New Year period as this systematically has a big impact on industrial production.
